Akiko has worked extensively on macroeconomic assessment, monitoring/forecast, and capacity building. She has published on a wide range of development issues including saving, exchange rate, financial crisis, capital flows, gender, education, infrastructure and growth in Asia and the Pacific. Akiko’s present work is focused on issues related to natural resource rich economies. Prior to joining ADB, she was an economist at the Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies of the Bank of Japan, and also worked at Global Insight and the World Bank.
