Gerald has more than a decade of combined research and consultancy experience in economics, project monitoring and implementation, and policy impact evaluation and analysis. He carried out consultancy work for various institutions such as the Department of Trade and Industry in the Philippines, Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia, and the ASEAN Secretariat. His current research interests include empirical analysis of preferential trade agreements, frontier issues in trade policy negotiations, and the dynamics of regional economic integration in Developing Asia. He holds an MA in Economics from the University of the Philippines.
