Technological transformation in Indonesia should take into account the different needs and opportunities of each region to avoid exacerbating development disparities. Targeted policies are needed to prepare these areas for digitization.
Jiro has nearly 30 years of international development expertise in infrastructure, electronic government, and development evaluation. Since September 2021, he has overseen ADB's Indonesia country strategy and operations as Country Director. He was Director of the SPD's Strategy, Policy, and Business Processes Division and Principal Evaluation Specialist in the Independent Evaluation Department before his current assignment. Prior to joining ADB in 2015, he led several evaluation reports assessing the development results of the World Bank Group’s country and corporate programs, and worked on a wide range of activities related to innovative use of information and communications technology for development at the World Bank. Jiro holds a Master's in Economics from the London School of Economics in the UK.
