The traditional banking system in India is struggling to meet the needs of under-served communities, including women. Fintech solutions can bridge this gap and expand financial inclusion if pursued carefully and with the right precautions.
Kanupriya Gupta has been working as Economist with Asian Development Bank since 2012. She is working in the areas of Education and Skills development, MSMEs, Industrial Corridors, Social Protection and Fintech. Prior to that, she was working with the International Food Policy Research Institute on various projects related to Agriculture Policies, Value Chains, and Trade. She also worked with the United Nation Development Program on the areas of Trade, Human Development and Micro Finance. She received her masters and doctorate degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, India.
