A forward-looking, regional approach is needed for countries in Central Asia to respond to the pandemic and prepare for future public health threats.
Kirthi works on health and social protection projects in ADB’s Central and West Asia region. She is particularly interested in quality of care, improving health governance to strengthen health systems, how digital health can transform health care and social protection. Kirthi’s experience includes working for various projects across Asia and the Pacific in social protection, health systems strengthening and local governance in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Tonga and Nepal. She has supported the preparation of Germany’s National Global Health Strategy and just prior to joining ADB she worked with the Ministry of Health in Malawi on financial management for the Global Fund.
