Ms. Venkatachalam supported ADB efforts to assist development-oriented private sector projects, and to strengthen cofinancing partnerships with various official and commercial cofinanciers. She has over 30 years of experience in senior management positions. Prior to joining ADB, Ms. Venkatachalam was Director General of Shipping and Ex-Officio Additional Secretary for India's Ministry of Shipping. Before that, she held the position of Principal Secretary to the Government of Karnataka. Ms. Venkatachalam left ADB in 2015.
