Mobile financial services have proven to be an ideal means to connect rural and remote populations to the financial sector. In several countries now—for example, Kenya, Uganda, Pakistan, or the Philippines—financial services are successfully delivered to the rural population using mobile phones and agents.
Monisha is actively involved in structuring facilities for small and medium enterprises in Central Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia covering mainly debt financing. A national of Singapore, she obtained her Master of Business Administration from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom; Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom; and a Diploma in Business Studies from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore.
