Progress made, and more to come on women’s urban health in Bangladesh
Increased access to health care has dramatically improved maternal health in cities across Bangladesh. The progress, however, cannot yet lead to contentment.

With over 12 years of experience working in the development and focusing on poor and marginalized women and children in Bangladesh, Nasheeba is mainly involved in the design and implementation of gender-relevant loans and technical assistance projects for ADB in the country. Her areas of specialization includes gender relations and equality, women's empowerment, violence against women, sex work and human rights, early marriage and feminization of poverty. Prior to joining ADB, Ms. Selim worked with UNDP Bangladesh and BRAC.
