Noeleen Heyzer

Ms. Heyzer served as Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations from 2007 to 2015. She was also the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser for Timor-Leste. Ms. Heyzer was the first woman to lead the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific since its founding in 1947. She is currently a member of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Board on Mediation.
