Working in fragile and conflict-affected situations in Asia and the Pacific requires development agencies to do business differently.
Mr. Barron has 14 years of experience in programming and research on subnational conflict, community development and state fragility. From 2005 to 2009, he led the World Bank's support to the Aceh peace process. During his tenure at the World Bank, Mr. Barron also worked across the region with a particular focus on southern Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Afghanistan, and wrote the award-winning book Contesting Development.
