A smooth energy transition promotes sustainable development and climate resilience but it requires efforts on multiple fronts.
In his current role, he is part of the IESP evaluation team, where his main focus is the evaluation of energy sector and project evaluations and validations. He has more than 34 years of professional experience, about 7 years of which were spent in ADB in the areas of independent evaluation and energy portfolio management in SARD. Mr. Ibrahim holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bath, UK and completed his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Power) from the University of Alexandria, Egypt. Prior to joining ADB, he worked for GE Digital Energy where he executed several high-profile infrastructure energy projects in Canada and USA. He also worked for Abu Dhabi power transmission utility (TRANSCO) in UAE where he executed a distinctive portfolio of energy projects worth of $1.2 billion in addition to the prestigious Emirates National Grid project, which led to the interconnection of Gulf states power grids.
