Yasushi has over 30 years of experience in the transport sector. He started his professional career at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, the Government of Japan in 1988. He was involved in transport infrastructure planning, transport system development, PPP-based research and development, and international cooperation with the Asian countries. From the Government of Japan, Yasushi moved to ADB in 2001 and has been expanding professional experiences in project financing for transport (expressway, road, rail, metro, airport) and telecommunication sectors in the Southeast and South Asia regions. Currently, he is focusing on processing of subregional and multisectoral projects. Yasushi holds a doctor’s degree in transport planning and engineering from the University of Kyoto.
