Yumiko Yamakawa's work focuses on education and skills development in Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar. She leads the development, processing and administration of loan and technical assistant projects in the education sector and identifies opportunities for ADB assistance projects in the sector. Prior to joining ADB, Yumiko was an Education Adviser at Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Myanmar, Bangladesh and Ethiopia.
